Workshops: Make and Mend
Our current community workshops, Common Threads: Make & Mend provide supportive, creative environments which can help to improve mental health and wellbeing. Participants can learn new textile skills, share the skills they have and feel part of a group.
We work with people with mental health problems, people who are returning to the community after being resident in a mental health setting, people who are vulnerable to mental health problems, people who feel lonely, isolated, or have low self-esteem. Taking place both in clinical settings and the community, the workshops can provide a ‘bridge’ for people returning to the community after residential care and support those at risk of requiring psychiatric intervention.
Our free, weekly textile craft workshops take place at Derby Museum and the Radbourne Unit, Derbyshire Healthcare Foundation Trust, Derby. Anyone with an interest in creative textiles is welcome – participants are at all different stages of life and wellbeing. All materials and equipment are provided.
To join the group, just come along to a session at Derby Museums or email us at email@example.com
